All sessions are conducted in full confidentiality and adhering to the ethical code of the EMCC( European Mentoring and Coaching Council). Back to basic rural learning experiences in SE Romania (village Camena, district Tulcea)

Inspired by the rural community life, Steliana Economu proposes a new type of learning experience – ”The Ithaca Journey”. During the journey, participants will reflect on their work/life choices, their personal goals and aspirations while being engaged in learning some of the ancient rural skills in a small village in Romania. As in Odysseus’ journey, this journey is meant to help participants follow their dreams but in the same time appreciate the simple things too often taken for granted in modern societies.

If you are someone who wants to experience the rural life and a different culture, or who is about to embark in a new change in life and needs some time away to reflect, Ithaca Journey will offer you the desired get away.  

You will be hosted at the Ithaca farmhouse or at one of the host families living within 2 min walk distance. All workshops will be held in the new learning centre next to farmhouse, which has all the appropriate facilities: large training room with spectacular views to the hilly landscape across the road, kitchen, showers and washrooms, and a large terrace. You will be picked up in Bucharest  airport by the Ithaca team and after three hour drive you will arrive in Camena . All workshops and coaching will be in English and you will have an English- Romanian translator for the rural activities.

Main ingredients of your Back to basic rural learning experiences

1) Workshops and activities facilitated by a Learning Professional

• About You- re discover  what’s really important in your life by reflecting on your life defining moments and dreams
• Personal Change & Attitude – become aware of own rational and irrational beliefs and find out what the inner barriers to follow your  own dreams and goals. Learn how to overcome your beliefs when interacting with other people by using simple tools to improve communication
• The ultimate rural challenge – the entrepreneurial approach – learns from successful entrepreneurs how to deal with different working styles, decision process to get things done, how to get innovations working.   Apply  the learning in a competitive 1 day team challenge in which the team faces the roughness and in the same time beauty of the rural life while they set together towards their team mission

2)      Every day rural activities guided by a local villager: milking the goals/cows, working in the garden, baking bread, making cheese cooking on an outside clay stove, brewing homemade wine or palinka etc.

3)      Individual coaching with an certified coach and the possibility for peer coaching and practicing coaching

4)       A study tour to discover the  region

The price of 1000 EUR per person covers for 5 days of personal development workshops, individual coaching, accommodation, meals and transfer from and to the airport. For couples and group bookings discounts apply! You can also opt for paying in 2 installments as long as the price is paid in full a month prior to the event.
